PONDERABLES
Has there ever been a greater virtue signalling hypocrite than Justin Trudeau?
Is it really true you can’t teach old dogs new tricks?
Is lego (invented by Denmark’s Ole Kirk Christensen in 1932) the greatest toy ever?
THINGS I FIRMLY BELIEVE
That Donald Trump has so many followers is proof of the decline of the judgement of the American people. The U.S.A. ceased being a great nation the day Donald Trump was elected president.
Blue Jay fans’ disappointment in Vladimir Guerrero Jr. stems from their exaggerated expectations of him after he had such a tremendous start to his career. Despite recent struggles his stats are more than respectable.
A good day begins with a leisurely breakfast.
Good interviewers never include the word “or” in their questions.
French fries are the most popular food item in North America (especially somebody else’s).
THINGS I FIRMLY BELIEVE ABOUT POLITICIANS
We need more who follow their conscience rather than party lines.
We also need more who solve problems rather than create them.
Mocking them is more effective than lecturing them.
Their capacity for deceit is virtually unlimited.

A DANGEROUSLY OVER-ZEALOUS CABINET MINISTER
Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault is far too zealous to hold an important cabinet post and should immediately be banished to the bank benches. I first questioned his judgement and suitability to govern in 2001 when he climbed the CN Tower, a reckless and idiotic grandstanding act. Now he’s been censured and fined $20,000 by Federal Court Justice Russel Zinn for trying to prevent Rebel News founder Ezra Levant from replying to his Twitter postings. Justice Zinn also ordered Guilbeault to not block Levant nor anybody else as long as he, Guilbeault, remains a member of Parliament. Justice Zinn ruled that Guilbeault’s action was a violation of Levant’s constitutional rights. As Ontario Premier Doug Ford once said, “Guilbeault is a real piece of work.”
MITT ROMNEY GOT IT RIGHT AGAIN
One of the most thoughtful and effective U.S. Senators, Republican Mitt Romney, (he was a Democrat until 1992) once again got things right by announcing he will not seek reelection in 2024. Pointing out that he would be in his mid-eighties by the end of another six-year term, he said “it’s time for a new generation of leaders.” This statement was a less than subtle subtle swipe at the doddering Joe Biden and the odious Donald Trump.
